Heart of Gratitude

The story of Cain and Abel in Gen4 is a pointer to a Heart of Gratitude demonstrated by two brother that came out of the same womb and suck same breast.

Abel offered a juicy fat animal and Cain offers crop.

They both offered Thanks offering in appreciation of God’s blessings towards their lives and endeavor. At least they brought what they are capable of bringing. “Cain brought of the first fruit of the ground as offering unto the Lord and Abel brought of the firstlings of his flock”vs3-4.

But something strange happened, the Bible says the Lord had respect for Abel and to his offering but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.

That tells us that the quality of our Thanks offering matters before God.  If Cain have respect, if Cain have faith and  sense of appreciation for all God did for him he would bring forth a quality offering.

Cain fail to realize that God is the source of blessings and that “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof;the world and they that dwell therein”Ps24:1

Cain failed to recognize that without God’s shower of blessing over his plantation he would not have had something to harvest.

God is not interested in the offering but what God is interested is the heart that brought a Thanks offering before His Throne.

A shabbily heart offering can never be respected or acceptable by God.

The Fault in Cain’s offering was the heart.A heart that lacked faith and  appreciation will always rebel and that manifested in Cain’s offering.

God can not be deceived he sees our heart and attitude towards him. He knows the level of our reverence towards him.

The Bible says Cain was wroth and his countenance fallen because his offering was not accepted.”lf thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted”? v7.

It is as simple as that God is not bias. The way you appreciate him, same way he would bless you.

God said “Bring ye all the tithes into the store house, that there may be meat in mine  house ,and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of host ,if l will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”Mal3:10 .

That is God’s assurance of blessing to all that demonstrated heart of gratitude.

So as a Christian the quality of offering and the heart we brought our offering before God matters.

May the Lord give us Heart of gratitude to thank him at all time,so that we can have an everlasting blessing and joy.

Uncommon blessing and favor shall continue to be our portion in Jesus name. Have a fruitful week ahead.
